Textual Analysis of a double page spread- Top of the pops

The double page spread on Cheryl Cole in the 'top of the pops' magazine one main picture of Cheryl Cole on her own. It is a mid-shot and her eye line is looking up as if she is dreaming or looking at the stars. The quote that goes with this is "I always kept my eye on the dream". This double page spread has stars as the border and in other various places, this emphasis that Cheryl is now a star but also relates to the fact that she used to dream about being one. Another one of the pictures is of Cheryl Cole with her fans looking happy. And another of Cheryl when she was trying to become a pop star, looking nervous. This is matched to the Headline of "feel the fear and do it anyway" it is inspirational to the young readers who want to be like Cheryl Cole, it makes them look up to her. The headline takes up a large percentage of the double page spread. This is so there is a big focus on the message that is being put across. The colour scheme is very soft and there is a picture of a rainbow in the sky this is to give the idea that she is in a dream and looks to the stars. The text is split under subheadings and then each of the questions is either in yellow or blue. This makes it clear when a question is being asked and when Cheryl Cole is answering. It is clear layout so that it easy to read. The interveiw set up makes the reader think that it is exclusive information. 'Cheryl Cole' was written in bold to attract the reader to the name.
